Jarrad Davis – Detroit Lions

Another team that is heading in the wrong direction is the Detroit Lions. Head coach Matt Patricia already looks to be under considerable pressure to keep his job and if things don’t improve following their bye week, he will be on the hot seat in no uncertain terms.

This is a situation that the Carolina Panthers might be able to take advantage of. Jarrad Davis looks like the sort of player who could really use a change of scenery and the Lions might consider a trade offer given that he is in the final year of his deal.

Much will depend on whether the Panthers decide if they are in win-now mode or not. But if they choose to go in this particular direction, then Davis should be high on their list of possibilities.

Davis has played in just 42 percent of Detroit’s defensive snaps in 2020 despite possessing some outstanding physical attributes. There appears to be a distinct lack of confidence within the Lions through five weeks of the season and a potential move to the Panthers would undoubtedly give the former first-round pick a new lease of life.

There is still time for Davis to turn his current predicament around. But there appears little doubt that he will have to move away from the team that drafted him to achieve this.
