Akiem Hicks – DL

The Chicago Bears can hurt you in so many different ways on their defensive front. They drive relentlessly at opposing protection schemes from all angles and a big part of their good fortune in this aspect comes from Akiem Hicks.

Moving Hicks to defensive tackle has been an inspired decision by the Bears so far this season. The former third-round pick has been an absolute wrecking ball on his way to four sacks from just five games and he will see this as another good chance to put up some lofty numbers to aid his side’s cause.

In fairness to the Carolina Panthers offensive line, they have been a pleasant surprise this season. They have provided quarterback Teddy Bridgewater with solid protection and laid on enough running lanes for Mike Davis and Christian McCaffrey to do damage.

Coming up against Hicks is going to be a considerable obstacle. Matt Paradis, Chris Reed, and John Miller might have their work cut out, but they come into the game in good form and it will be another huge shot in the arm if this continues against the Pro Bowler.

This is a game that could be decided in the trenches. Both teams look evenly matched on paper and it might come down to whoever wins the battle on the line of scrimmage throughout.
