Carolina Panthers vs. Bears: Best bets

The Carolina Panthers started the week as three-point favorites against the Chicago Bears. But due to the injury problems surrounding Kawann Short and Yetur Gross-Matos, in addition to Donte Jackson and Curtis Samuel being questionable, then this has come down to anywhere from 1-1.5 depending on which betting firm you look at.

This is going to be tight, which was reflected in the original -3 mark given to the Panthers. Both teams arrive into the game in good form and harbor realistic ambitions of emerging victorious, so it is one that really could go either way.

There appears little point betting the line when it is this close, whichever way you are going. One point here or there isn’t going to boost your cash reserves much, so the smart move is to bet the money line in this particular scenario.

Much will depend on how the Panthers defense copes without two starting defensive linemen. It might also be prudent to wait until the last minute to place a wager on the contest for a better indication of which other players could miss out.

For now, home advantage and a confident Panthers team are the best bet we’re recommending. But it is unlikely to be a high-scoring affair, so we are going with under the 44.5-point line.
