Could the Carolina Panthers make a bombshell trade before the 2020 deadline?
The 2020 trade deadline is almost upon us. This is always a busy time for teams across the league as they either look for one more piece for their Super Bowl push or to gain further capital ahead of the NFL Draft next year.
Which way the Carolina Panthers will go before November 3 is unclear. Their season has been better than expected so far. But it is still sitting in a precarious situation ahead of their Week 7 game at the New Orleans Saints.
Whether they want to compromise a draft pick or two by bringing in additional reinforcements remains to be seen. The decision-makers have probably already formed opinions about what sort of characters are currently at their disposal and it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out just where their problems lie.
Much will depend on what happens over the next couple of weeks. But if the Panthers are in a strong position following their Thursday Night Football game against the Falcons in Week 8, then they would be foolish not to at least try and strengthen in a bid for a surprise playoff berth.
