87. 27. 15. Final. 24

Which members of the Carolina Panthers roster showed out during their narrow 27-24 loss at the New Orleans Saints in Week 7?

This was a game that the Carolina Panthers had a real shot of winning. They pushed the New Orleans Saints all the way before eventually falling to a 27-24 loss at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and although there are plenty of positives head coach Matt Rhule can take from the contest, the NFL is a results business at the end of the day.

The Carolina Panthers are far more competitive than anybody thought possible. This is a testament to how quickly they’ve come together in a short space of time, but we are now almost at the halfway point of the campaign and unless the coaching staff fixes the clear deficiencies, especially on defense, then it is going to be tough going from here on in.

There is a lot to like about how the Panthers performed against a New Orleans Saints team who still have hopes of making a deep postseason run. The offense managed to mask the poor display defensively with another efficient display, with offensive coordinator Joe Brady calling a tremendous game against his former mentor, Sean Payton.

Carolina is getting a pass of sorts for its record in 2020. They appear ahead of schedule at this stage of their rebuild but that doesn’t make close defeats such as this any less frustrating to watch.

Let’s take a look at four Panthers players who showed out in New Orleans, which was almost enough to secure an upset.
