The Carolina Panthers need to do a better job of stopping these Falcons players during their latest NFC South divisional matchup.

It might not be a must-win game for the Carolina Panthers on Thursday Night Football. But their NFC South divisional matchup against the Atlanta Falcons could have huge ramifications on the team’s fortunes going forward.

Matt Rhule’s men are currently on a two-game losing run after winning three straight. They also have two outstanding teams immediately in their future in the form of the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who looked primed for deep postseason runs following a tremendous start to the campaign.

While it’s unlikely Carolina will get a win against either team, it is far from impossible.

The Panthers must generate some sort of momentum ahead of arguably their two sternest tests of the season. Although their performance at the Saints was largely encouraging, the NFL is a results business and that will be the most important thing of all against an Atlanta team that has a 1-6 record.

Things might be steadily improving for the Falcons under Raheem Morris. But their capitulation at home to the Detroit Lions in Week 7 saw them revert to type.

That being said, if the Panthers don’t take them seriously, they will pay the price. Here are four Falcons players that Carolina needs to do a better job against if their encounter earlier this season is any indication.
