Grady Jarrett – DT

Grady Jarrett has come of age for the Atlanta Falcons this season. The defensive tackle is now regarding as one of the best in the business thanks to a series of outstanding displays. So it will be interesting to see if the Carolina Panthers can make the necessary adjustments to counteract his supreme threat.

This was something they struggled to do for the most part in Week 5. Jarrett had his way with Carolina’s interior protection, especially early in the game, and things haven’t exactly improved on the offensive line since.

Although the tackle tandem of Taylor Moton and Russell Okung are playing at a high level, others in the trenches have regressed following a promising start. It is essential for the Panthers to get John Miller back into the lineup at the earliest possible opportunity, with the free-agent signing returning to practice this week after missing their contest at the Saints.

The introduction of Dennis Daley is another huge plus. The second-year-pro started his first game of what has been a frustrating campaign due to injury and if Miller is good to go then it would surely result in struggling guard Chris Reed’s demotion.

Jarrett recorded three tackles, one quarterback hit in his first outing against the Panthers. But the work he put in on the line of scrimmage was far more encouraging than anything on the stat sheet.
