Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers OLB

It seems like Jeremy Chinn is on this list almost every week. But he is just that good.

There is absolutely nothing the rookie cannot do from a defensive standpoint. This was another big leap in the right direction with Chinn coming into the game high on confidence after winning the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Month for October.

Defensive coordinator Phil Snow took of Chinn’s shackles to a certain extent by using him more prominently in blitz packages, something that brought about some extra pressure that was certainly needed. The former Southern Illinois standout was his usual self at the second level and further enhanced his claims for further individual honors at the end of the season.

Chinn was also able to factor in special teams and was given the responsibility of a carry on a fake punt that resulted in a first down. While this is not something you expect to see too often, it does highlight just how much confidence the Carolina Panthers coaching staff has in a player they traded back into the second round to acquire during the 2020 NFL Draft.

The Panthers are extremely fortunate to someone of Chinn’s caliber. Hopefully, they can make some moves to get better quality players around him sooner rather than later.
