4 trade deadline targets at CB for the Carolina Panthers

Bryce Callahan – Denver Broncos
The Denver Broncos haven’t lived up to their preseason hype as a possible preseason dark horse. They are currently languishing in a highly competitive AFC West with a 2-4 record and appear some way off from becoming a contender.
They also have a possible problem coming up with Bryce Callahan. The talented cornerback’s base salary is set to skyrocket to $6.5 million on the final year of his deal in 2021 and the Broncos might decide that going younger with a high-end NFL Draft pick be a better and cheaper alternative at this stage of their development.
This might be something the Carolina Panthers could take advantage of. Having another veteran presence would benefit this threadbare core considerably and Callahan has been playing at a tremendously high level this season.
He has given up 19 receptions from 29 targets to earn an eye-catching 80.2 grade from Pro Football Focus. Callahan has one interception, three passes defended, one tackle for loss, 29 combined tackles, and 23 solo tackles to his name in 2020, giving up a passer rating of just 61.9 on balls thrown his way.
Callahan also looks to be free of the injury problems that ravaged his 2019 season, which is another big plus. And it’s easy to forget the former undrafted prospect out of Rice was once part of a vaunted Chicago Bears defense before a broken foot significantly hampered his development.
