By Dean Jones
Which way will the Carolina Panthers go at the 2020 trade deadline?
It has been a fascinating season so far for the Carolina Panthers. They have picked up some notable successes along the way and their 3-5 record might look far different had the team found a way to come through in critical moments down the stretch.
This is something that will come with more experience. It’s easy to forget that the Carolina Panthers gutted their roster this offseason and implemented a young, progressive coaching staff that appears more than capable of turning around their fortunes.
Although the Panthers have been competitive against some top teams, for the most part. It’s become evident that they need some more quality reinforcements if the team wants to make it into postseason consideration sooner rather than later.
Whether the decision-makers opt to wait until free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft remains to be seen. But there is a chance Carolina could strike while the iron is hot and go after someone of interest before the 2020 trade deadline.
They are running out of time before trades will no longer be permitted. Teams have until November 3 to make additional moves and given the added stipulations surrounding COVID-19 protocols, it’s unlikely that any new recruit can make the field in time for Carolina’s incredible Week 9 test at the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
Just what the Panthers will do in the coming hours remains to be seen. Here is a buyer and sellers guide, together with a prediction.
