Which Carolina Panthers deserve more playing time in the last eight games?

The Carolina Panthers appear to be at a crossroads in their season. They are currently on a three-game losing run after winning three straight, putting them at 3-5 ahead of a daunting trip to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 9.

Getting a victory at the Super Bowl champions would be the biggest upset of the campaign. The Chiefs are the complete team and one the Carolina Panthers are no doubt looking at as a possible benchmark regarding what can be achieved with the right structure in place.

This will be followed by a tough home fixture against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who also look primed for a shot at the Vince Lombardi Trophy under quarterback Tom Brady. It’s highly likely the Panthers will probably be at 3-7 following the next fortnight, which would be a stark contrast to the optimism that surrounded the franchise when they sat at 3-2 just a few short weeks ago.

Head coach Matt Rhule will be all-too-aware of this. The former Baylor man is getting a free pass during the first year of his rebuild in 2020. But it does represent a good chance for him to get a good look at some fringe players during the second half of the campaign in order to see what they can bring to the organization going forward.

Let’s take a look at four Panthers who must see some additional playing time moving forward.
