Brian Burns will get 12 sacks

Brian Burns has been one of the standout performers for the Carolina Panthers this season. The second-year defensive end has made great strides in his overall game to become a more rounded contributor, something that will stand both the player and team in good stead moving forward.

The 2019 first-round pick is setting the edge in run support far better than he did as a rookie. Burns is also making a difference in a three-down capacity to further enhance his overall influence on the organization. But, at the end of the day, pass-rushers are judged on sacks.

Carolina is one of the worst when it comes to taking down the quarterback. They found it incredibly difficult to generate pressure during their first few contests and although things have gotten better, much more will be needed.

This will fall primarily on Burns, who has generated significant pressure in recent weeks. That being said, he only has three sacks to his name – all of which have forced fumbles.

Providing the ex-Florida State standout continues and improves the sort of production he’s demonstrated over the last few weeks, then a big breakout game won’t be far in the offing. There was plenty of hype surrounding the player reaching double-digit sacks this season and with eight games to go, it would be a huge disappointment if that wasn’t the case.
