Examining which Carolina Panthers players could leave in 2021 at the midseason point.

It has been a season full of twists and turns for the Carolina Panthers. They have shown flashes of brilliance, especially during their three-game winning run. But the simple fact of the matter is that they are some way off contending for a Super Bowl with their current roster.

This is something that head coach Matt Rhule is probably aware of. He no doubt came to the Carolina Panthers with his eyes wide open regarding the job facing him and although the former Baylor man seems to have commanded the respect of his locker room, additional reinforcements in 2021 should further help in their pursuit of making the postseason sooner rather than later.

The NFL offseason is always a hive of activity. This includes players who are either removed due to poor performance or those who simply choose to try pastures new in the hope of a more substantial role.

Money is sure to play its part, as it always does. The salary cap might be around $175 million due to a lack of revenue coming from COVID-19 restrictions that put the entire season in jeopardy once upon a time. And the Panthers need to be prudent with the financial resources available to them.

Some big decisions need to be made in the not-too-distant future. Here are four Panthers players who could be out of the door for differing reasons in 2021.
