It doesn’t appear like the Indianapolis Colts are too far away from making a legitimate Super Bowl run. Their defense is exceptional and providing they find a long-term solution at quarterback once Philip Rivers hangs up his cleats, the organization has an incredibly bright future.

One thing they are missing is some dynamic players in the passing game. They have plenty of salary-cap space to ensure this problem is rectified during the offseason and Curtis Samuel is sure to be high on their shortlist if he gets to free agency.

Much will depend on who is under center behind a formidable offensive line. It remains to be seen whether Rivers is sticking around for another year but whoever is their quarterback will need better players around him if the team wants to go on a deep postseason run.

Samuel is a do-it-all offensive weapon who has already accumulated 38 receptions, 427 all-purpose yards, and four touchdowns through nine weeks. Given he’d be getting a lot more targets thrown his way in somewhere like Indianapolis, the player’s numbers could go through the roof in a different environment.

This might be more important to Samuel than the money involved. He’ll be a wealthy man regardless of where he signs, so finding the right fit for his long-term aspirations is crucial if the player decides to leave the Carolina Panthers.
