Fantasy Football outlook for the Carolina Panthers in Week 10
Some Carolina Panthers netted impressive fantasy numbers at the Chiefs.
Lather. Rinse. Repeat. If the season ended today, the story of the 2020 Carolina Panthers would be that they were an overachieving ball club with a legitimate chance to win every single game they lost. That was the case again on Sunday as they almost shocked the world with a competitive battle against the reigning Super Bowl champions.
Throughout the first half, the Carolina Panthers seemed to have the perfect strategy to compete with Kanas City. They chewed up about eight minutes of clock on their first drive and got a rare red zone touchdown with the assistance of Christian McCaffrey.
From there, the Panthers defense played well and got off the field, with the help of Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill seemingly out of sync.
As the case with many great signal-callers Mahomes didn’t off rhythm for long with the help of both Hill and All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce. He went 30/45 for 372 yards and four touchdowns and if not for some amazing fourth-down conversions, the Panthers would not have had a chance to win on the final drive of the game.
Speaking of that final drive, the execution on it was concerning to put it kindly.
Matt Rhule should probably run the two-minute drill more often in practice because Carolina is 0-5 in games they’ve had a chance to win on the final drive.
Unfortunately, the team will face another tough opponent without McCaffrey, who sustained a shoulder injury on the final drive at Kansas City. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers come to town and will be looking to bounce back after an embarrassing defeat against the Saints on Sunday Night Football. Here’s a look at how the Panthers will perform in fantasy this week.
