6 free agents who should be on the Panthers’ wish list in 2021

Garett Bolles – OT
It appears unlikely that the Carolina Panthers are going to keep Russell Okung around, and certainly not on the $13 million in base salary he’s currently collecting. The Pro Bowler has performed well when available but his troubles staying healthy doesn’t make him the most dependable of options at this juncture.
Even if Okung does stay around, Carolina needs a longer-term solution at the position. Greg Little doesn’t appear to be the answer and given how well Garett Bolles has commanded the edge for the Denver Broncos this season, he is another that could instantly improve their fortunes and give quarterback Teddy Bridgewater an outstanding blindside protector moving forward.
Bolles has grown in stature with every passing year. This has been especially evident this season as the former first-round pick hasn’t given up a sack and conceded just five penalties on his way to an eye-catching 89.6 grade from Pro Football Focus from 548 snaps.
This might come with some substantial financial compensation from the Panthers’ perspective. But there will be some free funds available that could be used on Bolles if they choose to part ways with Okung just one year after acquiring him in a trade that sent Trai Turner to the Los Angeles Chargers.
