Could Sam Howell end up on the Carolina Panthers in 2022?

Sam Howell‘s performance for North Carolina on Saturday set the college football world alight. But is there any chance he could end up with the Carolina Panthers in 2022?

That would be the dream for a large section of the team’s fanbase who have come to adore the quarterback from following the Tarheels. Howell seems to be getting better with every passing game and his phenomenal outing against Wake Forest saw the player complete 71.1 percent of his passes for a jaw-dropping 550 yards through the air, six touchdowns, and just one interception.

Not bad for a sophomore.

Howell seems to have everything one looks for in a franchise signal-caller. He is a legitimate contender for the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft if he continues this trend going forward and the player could be in Heisman Trophy contention of North Carolina had a better defense at their disposal.

The Panthers do have Teddy Bridgewater under center, who signed a three-year, $64 million deal with a $15 million signing bonus and $33 million guaranteed. He’s done well for the most part but if Carolina isn’t convinced the former first-round pick is the man to take them forward, they do have an out regarding his contract in 2022.

As luck would have it, that is when Howell is set to come out. But how would the hottest player in college football look on the Panthers?
