D’Andre Swift – RB

Providing D’Andre Swift recovers from a concussion problem in time to face the Carolina Panthers, he is a substantial danger that needs to be game-planned for in no uncertain terms. The running back took his time to settle into NFL life but there is little denying the fact he’s really starting to hit his stride of late.

The former Georgia sensation is the latest Bulldog back to come off the conveyor belt and into the pros. Swift is a dual-threat weapon that is all the rage in today’s NFL and he looks to be a star in the making.

Detroit has played it cool with Swift, using him primarily as a passing weapon during his initial period of transition. However, the shackles appear to be well and truly off if his performances over the last fortnight are any indication, with the back already amassing 606 all-purpose yards and six touchdowns through nine games.

Stopping the run has been an ongoing problem for the Panthers over the last two seasons. One only has to look at their dismal attempts to stop Ronald Jones on a 98-yard touchdown run last weekend and Swift will see this as a big opportunity to boost his impressive numbers up even further to enhance his outside chances of being Offensive Rookie of the Year in the process.
