D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

D.J. Moore shined against the Buccaneers again last Sunday to the tune of 96 yards and one beautiful 24-yard touchdown off a screen pass. Like Teddy Bridgewater, the majority of his production came in the first half.

Overall it seems Joe Brady is inventing new ways to get him the football, especially in space. The offensive coordinator will have to be even more inventive this week, as it seems all but certain that Bridgewater will not suit up.

Moore became a member of the “700 Club” after Sunday’s game along with his teammate Robby Anderson. The pair are the only wide receivers on the same team in the NFL that each has 700 yards receiving this season.

The Lions’ defense is extremely average but with so much uncertainty at quarterback, it’s hard to imagine the offense will at par or better than they’ve been thus far. Moore will have to elevate his level of play to help his quarterback on Sunday.

Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

Robby Anderson easily had his worst game as a Panther and ended the day with only 21 yards against the Bucs. And he got all of those in the first half.  The wideout hasn’t netted a fantasy game higher than 15 points since Week 5 and there are a couple of factors that come into this.

Obviously poor offensive line play has made it difficult for this offense to be truly dynamic and Carolina has many mouths to feed in terms of pass-catchers, especially when Christian McCaffrey is playing. There also seems to be an aversion to passing beyond 10-15 yards which has led to Anderson being under-utilized as a deep threat.

The analysis for Moore can be applied to Anderson. Both have to step up but there’s not enough certainty at quarterback to predict which, if any, wide receiver will have a good day.
