4 dream replacements if Joe Brady gets a head coaching job in 2021
By Dean Jones
Mike Kafka
Much will depend on whether Eric Bieniemy moves from being the Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator to a head coaching role he more than deserves in 2021 as to whether Mike Kafka is a realistic option for the Carolina Panthers. The passing coordinator has made a big impression on the Super Bowl champions since joining in 2017 and who wouldn’t want to have some in-house secrets regarding an offense that is the NFL’s most explosive.
Kafka might end up getting a promotion with the Chiefs if Bieniemy gets the chance to prove his capabilities as a head coach. This would allow for quarterback phenom Patrick Mahomes to have some stability to keep their hopes of a dynasty alive and well.
This would be a real coup for the Panthers and one that would definitely offset the potential departure of Joe Brady. Kafka has all the knowledge needed to make a success of such an opportunity and he’s received glowing praise from players that work with him closely on a daily basis.
It is a good situation to be walking into. Carolina has some exceptional weapons on offense, the NFL’s best dual-threat running back in Christian McCaffrey, and an offensive line that might be dominant with two more quality additions on the left-hand side.
Kafka would also be able to improve Teddy Bridgewater, which is another strong element that shouldn’t be overlooked.
