Another potential candidate for the Carolina Panthers in the event Joe Brady departs for pastures new is Shane Waldron. The Los Angeles Rams would undoubtedly fight tooth and nail to keep around their quarterbacks’ coach, who has been instrumental in making them a force to be reckoned with on offense once again.

Waldron is a staunch Sean McVay loyalist. So it would take an enticing project for the coach to even consider leaving the sunshine of Los Angeles.

The Panthers are definitely that.

They have an embarrassment of riches on offense – providing they can tie down Curtis Samuel and Taylor Moton to long-term deals this offseason – and given how young this group is, they’re only going to get better.

Waldron would come in and instantly reignite a franchise that would be extremely disappointed to lose Brady after just one season. His time as a tight end coach with the Rams would also be a substantial help at a position that has struggled to make an impression in Carolina this season, but they might be working with a new unit with the futures of Chris Manhertz and Ian Thomas up in the air.

The Panthers could do a lot worse than looking at Waldron. But whether this is the sort of option he wants to consider is another matter entirely.
