Carolina Panthers vs. Lions: Prediction

This might be a do-or-die game for the Carolina Panthers regarding their fortunes for the remainder of the campaign. A win could stand them in good stead ahead of a tricky looking game at the Vikings, but defeat leaves them staring at one of the NFL’s worst records heading down the stretch.

Talking a good game is all well and good, but it’s time for this roster to start delivering. Injuries haven’t helped their cause – especially with their bye not coming until Week 13 – but you can say the same for almost every NFL team at this stage of the campaign.

The Panthers were supposed to get better as the season wore on, not worse.

They come into the game with a substantial point to prove after their capitulation against the Buccaneers and with Teddy Bridgewater unlikely to be leading the charge, it remains to be seen whether Carolina has the sort of resolve to get themselves a big win.

Prediction: Detroit Lions 20, Carolina Panthers 21

Given the Lions have some doubt on the injury front of their own, the Panthers can still win this game even if their No. 1 signal-caller is unable to take his place in the lineup. Hopefully, the defense can rise to the occasion and pick up some of the slack, which will have to be the driving force behind any success that comes their way at Bank of America Stadium.
