D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

D.J. Moore has come to life over the last two weeks. The wide receiver has re-emerged as the No. 1 option for the Carolina Panthers and he looks well on course for his second 1,000-yard season in three years.

Moore’s chemistry with backup quarterback P.J. Walker was there for all to see almost from the outset. His big gain on a crucial 95-yard drive that resulted in the game’s opening score was crucial and he was a constant thorn in the Lions’ side almost anywhere on the field.

Everyone knows what the Panthers have in Moore. He is a polished route-runner who has overcome some early struggles to maintain his standing as one of the NFL’s brightest young pass-catchers.

It seems like Moore has been around forever which makes it even harder to believe it’s just his third campaign in a professional environment. His seven receptions for 127 receiving yards came at an eye-catching average of 18.8 yards-per-catch, which was a testament to how well Walker got the ball to Carolina’s best weapon in the passing game.

Teddy Bridgewater’s mindset makes it difficult for him to throw to wideouts who appear covered. But when the Panthers have someone like Moore, they need to realize that he has a great chance of catching anything coming his way no matter what the coverage looks like.
