Sam Howell – North Carolina

Sam Howell‘s draft stock is rising with every passing game. He looks well on course to be a high-end selection in 2022 and there is even a chance for the North Carolina sensation to go No. 2 overall if the signal-caller performs at his current level.

The Carolina Panthers might be in the market for a long-term solution at quarterback if things don’t go according to plan with Teddy Bridgewater. If they’re in a position to select Howell then it is an option they will consider strongly.

However, there is a lot of football to be played between now and then.

Howell would be an instant fan favorite after becoming adored quickly by fans of the Tarheels during his first two seasons under center and despite his 6-foot-1 stature, his pocket awareness is exceptional.

Howell looks able to make every throw possible and the sky is the limit if he makes further improvements before it’s time to hear his name called by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. Plenty needs to go against Bridgewater and the Panthers for them to acquire one of the hottest college quarterbacks around, but putting together a big trade package to move up is another possible avenue they could go down if they’re convinced he’s a franchise player.
