Fantasy football outlook for Panthers in Week 12 at the Vikings

Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB

All signs point to Teddy Bridgewater starting this Sunday at Minnesota. While P.J. Walker played admirably against Detroit, there will be no quarterback controversy brewing in Charlotte.

Bridgewater will take the reins against the team that drafted him No. 32 overall in 2014. Win or lose, the narrative of the quarterback’s career will hopefully shift from being an injured former Viking to a solid starter.

Since the bye week, the Vikings have been generous to some quarterbacks in fantasy and brutal to others. Their defense is 26th in passing yards allowed and 27th in points allowed so I feel good about starting Bridgewater here, especially considering what this game means to him.

However, considering his recent injury, if there’s a better matchup on the waiver wire, I’d take it.

Mike Davis – Carolina Panthers RB

Matt Rhule said Christian McCaffrey would be “working himself back in,” but there’s no reason to believe the All-Pro will play in Minnesota, especially with a bye week on the horizon.

Mike Davis will once again be asked to step up and establish the ground game. He had somewhat of a bounce-back game against Detroit, netting a fantasy score higher than 12 for the first time since Week 5.

START.

Minnesota is allowing 20 more yards per game on the ground than the Carolina Panthers. Davis’ success is imperative against a Vikings defense that can still be dangerous under head coach Mike Zimmer.

The veteran rusher will also be essential in third down and short situations. We know coach Rhule is not afraid to gamble on fourth, but Davis and the offense will have to execute against Minnesota, a team that’s very good at getting off the field in this scenario.
