Could Teddy Bridgewater return to the Vikings in the future?

Teddy Bridgewater will be looking forward to Sunday’s game at the Minnesota Vikings more than most. The Carolina Panthers quarterback returns to his old stomping ground for the first time since a devastating leg injury cut his time with the organization short and he comes into the contest with plenty to prove.

Although Teddy Bridgewater has the calmest of demeanors, the signal-caller wouldn’t be human if he wasn’t a little nervous in Week 12. This comes with the territory when players come up against their old teams but the former first-round pick has enough experience to ensure it won’t impact his performance a great deal.

This represents a good chance for Bridgewater to show the Vikings what they’ve been missing. Head coach Mike Zimmer decided to spend big bucks to bring Kirk Cousins in via 2018 free agency, leaving the Louisville product facing an uncertain future at the time.

Instead of rolling over and accepting his fate as a hard-luck story, Bridgewater worked exceptionally hard and bided his time to eventually get a three-year, $64 million deal from the Panthers in free agency that also included a $15 million signing bonus, $33 million guaranteed, and a prominent starting job once again.

It’s clear that Bridgewater is still held in high regard in Minnesota by ex-teammates and coaches alike. But could he return to the Vikings in the future?
