Could Omar Bayless be the Carolina Panthers’ secret weapon in 2021?

The Carolina Panthers have an exciting young offense that could be set for great things providing the front office can keep them together. Some influential members of the roster are set to be free agents after the 2020 season, so getting the likes of Curtis Samuel and Taylor Moton tied down long-term will be crucial to their chances moving forward.

Considering the Carolina Panthers haven’t had the services of Christian McCaffrey for all-but 3.5 games, they have put up some impressive numbers on the offensive side of the ball. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater has come in for his fair share of criticism for not getting the ball downfield enough, but he is still average 11 yards-per-completion, which isn’t the worst in the NFL by any stretch of the imagination.

They might also have a secret weapon up their sleeve to boost their chances further in 2021.

Omar Bayless.

The undrafted free-agent wide receiver lit up training camp with an exceptional display that looked set to cement his place on the 53-man roster. This was, of course, before disaster struck for the player.

Bayless was forced onto the reserve/injured list with a serious knee injury that ruled him out for the entire campaign. This represented a significant blow to a player who received some eye-catching praise from head coach Matt Rhule at camp.

Providing he makes a full return to health, Bayless might just be a player to watch next year.
