Mario Addison – DE

Another player the Carolina Panthers have missed this season is Mario Addison. Their lack of consistent pressure in opposing backfields outside of the exceptional production of second-year-pro Brian Burns has really hampered them in tight games and having the veteran defensive end who gained 55 sacks during his time with the organization would’ve helped immensely.

Addison signed a lucrative deal with the Buffalo Bills in free agency, which the Panthers weren’t ever going to match even if they wanted to.

He is currently dealing with a knee injury that puts his status for their game against the San Francisco 49ers in doubt. But the pass-rusher will be hoping he can shake off the problem to try and boost his team’s claims of winning the AFC East.

They are currently in the driving seat, albeit just one game ahead of the Miami Dolphins. Addison has four sacks, seven quarterback hits, and nine pressures from just three starts and 61 percent of the Bills’ defensive snaps in 2020 so far and if he isn’t available on Monday Night Football it is going to be a big loss.

The former undrafted prospect out of Troy is made of strong stuff, so it would be a massive surprise if he didn’t take the field. Addison will need to turn in a strong display against a Niners’ team that still remains dangerous despite some substantial losses on both sides of the ball.
