Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB

Teddy Bridgewater might not be on the hot seat just yet. But that doesn’t detract from just how much work he has to do over the remaining four games as the quarterback looks to prove beyond all doubt that he is the man to take them forward.

Some people have already drawn their own conclusions.

Whether they are blinded by their loyalty to Cam Newton or not is a moot point at this juncture. And Bridgewater will know more than most that the pressure is well and truly on down the stretch.

The former first-round pick has been large as advertised. So anyone that was expecting anything else was kidding themselves.

Bridgewater is an accurate game-manager who doesn’t take enough shots downfield. But whether they will be enough to take the Carolina Panthers back into playoff contention is another matter entirely.

He will be Carolina’s signal-caller in 2021. Make no mistake about that.

However, what happens after next year is still uncertain.

The Panthers might decide to draft a potential replacement this year if they’re not convinced. This would pile even more pressure on Bridgewater to deliver the goods and although they do have more pressing needs, a poor end to the campaign would leave far more questions than answers.
