Pick No. 2: Alex Leatherwood – OT (Alabama)

It remains to be seen whether the Carolina Panthers are going to Russell Okung around in 2021. The veteran Pro Bowler still has the capability to perform at a high level if his exploits this season are any indication. But staying healthy with his advancing years has been a concern.

There is also the situation regarding Taylor Moton’s impending contract extension to consider. Alex Leatherwood is a burly body who has come on leaps and bounds this season and is well worth a pick at this juncture.

It doesn’t look like players such as Greg Little, Trenton Scott, or Dennis Daley are working out. So it would be wise of Carolina to mark protection for quarterback Teddy Bridgewater as a top priority either in free agency of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Pick No. 3: Jevon Holland – S (Oregon)

Defensive tackle Jaylen Twyman has been the pick here for the Panthers more often than not in our recent mocks. However, Jevon Holland falling to this spot is just too tempting to turn down.

The safety is a ball-hawk who’s instincts will go down very well at the NFL level. His athleticism is off the charts and considering how much Tre Boston has struggled this season, for the most part, then it would be foolish of Carolina not to explore the possibility of strengthening the backend to further assist their rebuild.
