Anthony Harris – S (Minnesota Vikings)

There has been plenty of speculation surrounding the future of Anthony Harris. It looked as if the safety might be leaving the Minnesota Vikings in 2020 free agency before they slapped the franchise tag on him late in the day and a difficult start to the current campaign saw plenty of trade rumors swirling around before the deadline.

Harris enjoyed a phenomenal 2019 season for the Vikings that resulted in his first Pro Bowl selection and a reputation as one of the best safeties in the business. Things haven’t gone quite according to plan this time around – at least prior to Minnesota’s bye week – but having so much uncertainty surrounding your future is bound to come with its own set of complications.

The Carolina Panthers haven’t gotten much in the way of useful production from veteran Tre Boston, who has looked a shell of his former self after signing a three-year, $18 million deal. Juston Burris has come on leaps and bounds from the start of the campaign, but it’s clear more will be needed.

Bringing in someone like Harris would help tremendously. It doesn’t appear as if the Vikings will have the salary-cap space to keep him around and the option is well worth considering providing the price isn’t too steep.
