4 key Panthers matchups to watch vs. the Broncos in Week 14

Teddy Bridgewater vs. Justin Simmons
Teddy Bridgewater heads into a crucial series of fixtures over the next month that could decide his long-term future with the Carolina Panthers. The jury is still out as to whether the free-agent signing has what it takes to lead the organization once this period of transition is over and if the quarterback suffers further complications in the coming weeks then it is sure to come with plenty of speculation during the offseason.
Bridgewater hasn’t been terrible, not by any stretch of the imagination.
But the Panthers might need more to take that next step into postseason contention.
If the former Louisville standout wants to get the better of a decent Denver defense, he needs to account for the whereabouts of Justin Simmons at all times.
The safety has been absolutely sensational in 2020 – which just so happens to be a contract year – and he has made himself some substantial money next spring either with the Broncos or elsewhere.
Simmons is a ballhawk that possesses superb instincts on the backend. Bridgewater might be without some prominent weapons in the passing game if they cannot come off the reserve/COVID-19 list in time for the game, which would only complicate matters for a player with plenty of pressure on his shoulders.
