Carolina Panthers vs. Broncos: Best bets

The Carolina Panthers are slightly favored at Bank of America Stadium by 3.5 points over the Broncos. This might be something of a surprise considering how many players are currently on the reserve/COVID-19 list and they are also set to be without star running back Christian McCaffrey when all signs pointed to the All-Pro making his long-awaited return to the lineup.

The odds reflect more on how much Denver is struggling rather than Carolina’s ability. Quarterback Drew Lock is going through some second-year problems and is a far cry from the potential breakout star many predicted before the campaign.

It’s really hard to say which way this one is going to go. We don’t yet know who is going to take the field for the Panthers – which could have a huge say in proceedings – but they will get second-round pick Yetur Gross-Matos back to boost their pass-rush at a crucial stage of the season.

This could be another close game and a situation that Carolina has had trouble coming through in this season. Hopefully, the coaching staff has made the necessary adjustments in a bid to come through when it matters most both on and off the field.

That being said, one couldn’t bet the -3.5 with any confidence at this juncture. This might change in the coming days if the likes of Shaq Thompson, Derrick Brown, Zach Kerr, and Curtis Samuel do enough to come off the COVID list. So wait until the last second before placing your stake.

The over-under on the contest ranges from 45-46.5. There shouldn’t be that many points scored in this one, so you can bet the under with some confidence.
