Teddy Bridgewater – Carolina Panthers QB

Teddy Bridgewater‘s return to Minnesota was forgettable, but he’s still got plenty of time to end his season on a high note; starting this Sunday against Denver.

He’s currently the 25th best quarterback per Pro Football Focus and has looked more like a “bridge” starter than the franchise’s permanent answer.

This will by no means be an easy matchup, as the Broncos defense is ranked in the top 10 in passing yards allowed per game. However, Bridgewater and the Carolina Panthers’ offense may have caught a bit of a break due to the six-game suspension of Pro Bowl cornerback A.J. Bouye.

SIT.

This could be a low scoring game. The over/under is currently at 45.5 and even that seems a little high. The Panthers will probably get more production attacking Denver’s penetrable run defense, but more on that later. If the Broncos’ above-average pass defense holds up, it could be a long day for Bridgewater.

Mike Davis – Carolina Panthers RB

Christian McCaffrey should be done for the 2020 season and he’s listed as doubtful to play against his father’s former team. Mike Davis will start again this week and he should do pretty well. His total fantasy output is ranked 10th among running backs and he’s been one of the most consistent playmakers on the team.

Start or Sit in Week 14?

START.

Here’s a simple reason: the Broncos run defense has allowed over 131 yards per game. The Panthers should run their offense through Davis this week. Denver’s pass defense is among the league’s best and in the NFL, establishing the run early and effectively usually opens the door to more opportunities through the air.
