Brian Burns – Carolina Panthers DE

Brian Burns is a player of the highest quality. His emergence as the next great Carolina Panthers pass-rusher has been there for all to see this season and if the defensive end continues this trend moving forward, it is going to come with a bumper payday in the coming years.

The former Florida State standout has made great strides this season. Carolina made him the No. 1 option after being used as part of the rotation as a rookie and it’s clear that Burns took this responsibility incredibly seriously during the offseason.

Burns is now a well-rounded edge player who can impact the game on a three-down basis. His explosiveness is nothing short of phenomenal and once the Panthers figure out the best way to get better around him, then the sky is the limit.

It might be some way off yet, but Carolina should already be making plans to make the necessary funds available to extend Burns to the sort of contract he’ll undoubtedly command barring any injury setbacks.

One only has to look at how much the likes of Joey Bosa have been paid in recent months to see where the bar is for Burns. But getting after the quarterback is a key component in any team looking to secure Super Bowl success which makes it integral to keep their prized possession in this regard around for the duration of his career.
