Jeremy Chinn – Carolina Panthers OLB

Jeremy Chinn‘s career with the Carolina Panthers might be in its infancy. But it’s clear that he is already on a path to superstardom.

The athletic rookie came into the league with a lot to like about his ability to make an instant impression. Carolina gambled a draft pick to move back into the second round and take Chinn at No. 64 overall and judging by what we’ve seen from the player so far, it’s one of general manager Marty Hurney’s finest achievements.

Chinn earned the starting role opposite Shaq Thompson at outside linebacker at training camp and has excelled despite his lack of experience at the position. The first-year-pro wasted no time in proving he belongs at the next level and come up with some eye-catching and historic highlights along the way.

It’s hard to gauge just how much better Chinn can get, which is the biggest compliment one can give him at this juncture.

He is just that good.

Another couple of years of this sort of production and the Panthers will be looking at giving Chinn a contract more in-keeping with his influence on defense. There is a lot of football to be played between now and then, but the do-it-all stud is on the right track in no uncertain terms.
