What is Tepper hoping to achieve?

Owning an NFL team is a privilege. But it’s also a lot of hard work.

David Tepper has long been associated with the limelight even before he acquired the Carolina Panthers and his lofty goals include both a Super Bowl and turning the organization into the most respected in the entire league.

That includes everything.

Personnel, facilities, fanbase, and structure.

Everything.

The first building blocks are there. Taking the next step from a promising franchise to a leading contender is the hardest step of all and whether Tepper needs to bring in some fresh ideas at the general manager position is something that is sure to be debated with Marty Hurney’s contract up for renewal.

If Tepper thinks it’s the right thing to do. He will not hesitate to pull the trigger.

After all, you don’t get what he has in business by being a nice guy all the time.

We’ll probably get a better indication of where the Panthers are at and if they’ll ever be considered among the elite teams this time next year. Tepper will back up the decision-makers with whatever they need. But he will be demanding results at the earliest possible opportunity.
