Pharoh Cooper – Carolina Panthers WR

Pharoh Cooper played a season-high in snaps during their disappointing loss against the Denver Broncos in Week 14. This was down in no small part to the absence of D.J. Moore and Christian McCaffrey. But the last three games should be an ideal chance to get the do-it-all weapon more involved and see whether he can become a bigger part of their plans moving forward.

Cooper joined the Carolina Panthers in free agency on a one-year deal and has been used primarily as a kick returner this season. Opportunities in the passing game were always going to be few and far between thanks to the weapons at Joe Brady’s disposal and this has left the former South Carolina standout on the outside looking in for the most part.

The wideout did bring in all three of his targets for 52 receiving yards against the Broncos. This eye-catching contribution might be enough for Cooper to get more in the way of meaningful game time between now and the end of the campaign. But the impending return of both Moore and McCaffrey could complicate matters.

Cooper is one of many players who are fighting for their long-term futures in Carolina over the next few weeks. He got off to a positive start in Week 14, but much more will be needed to convince the coaching staff he is worth keeping around.
