Take risks

The Carolina Panthers don’t have much to lose in this one. They are walking into the contest as heavy underdogs against a team that could make the Super Bowl in the coming weeks. So throwing some caution to the wind might be the best way to go with nothing else to play for other than pride.

There isn’t much that defensive coordinator Phil Snow can throw at Aaron Rodgers that he hasn’t seen before. He also has the benefit of playing behind an exceptional offensive line that gives the signal-caller more than enough time to go through his progressions and make things happen.

Now is the time for the Panthers to take the shackles off and be a little bit bolder with their play-calling.

If it doesn’t work, so what?

Nobody is expecting them to get anything out of the game. So gambling a little bit more in the hope they can fluster Rodgers in some way is probably their best opportunity to stay competitive against the 2020 NFL MVP candidate.

The Panthers do have some athletic, explosive players who can get in the backfield. There will be plenty of responsibility on the shoulders of Brian Burns and second-round pick Yetur Gross-Matos on the edge and Carolina only has to look at the way stud rookie Jeremy Chinn has made a difference on blitz packages to see hos he =could also help in this particular area.
