Aaron Jones – RB

Aaron Jones is another player that the Carolina Panthers need to stop if they want to stand any chance of causing an upset in Week 15. The running back is playing with a point to prove on the final year of his rookie deal and judging by the level of production he’s shown so far in 2020, a big payday could be coming his way next spring.

Aaron Rodgers might get most of the praise, which is to be expected given his track record. But the Packers’ chances of winning the Super Bowl would diminish significantly if Jones was forced to miss time down the stretch.

The former fifth-round pick has worked incredibly hard to emerge from an unfancied prospect to one of the NFL’s best running backs. Jones already has 1,108 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns to his name this season and if the Panthers do not take his threat seriously, they will pay the price.

Carolina is giving up 113.6 yards-per-game on the ground. This is ranked No. 13 in the league and represents a substantial improvement on what we saw from the Panthers in 2019.

Drafting defensive tackle Derrick Brown at No. 7 overall has played a leading part in their turnaround. If the Auburn product can limit the threat Jones bring to the table on Saturday, it will give his credentials another lift and provide his team a huge boost in the process.
