6 Carolina Panthers players whose stock is way up in 2020
By Dean Jones
Brian Burns – Carolina Panthers DE
There was a lot to like about the promise shown by Brian Burns as a rookie. The first-round pick demonstrated his explosive ability to get into the backfield on a rotational basis and the Carolina Panthers saw enough in the defensive end to make him the team’s No. 1 pass-rushing option this time around.
This is a responsibility in which Burns has thrived.
Even if there might not be much in the way of help around him.
Burns has been absolutely sensational this season, working hard in the build-up to gain the necessary skills needed to become an edge presence that can make a difference on a three-down basis. This has resulted in a substantial increase in production to further enhance his claims of being one of the NFL’s brightest young players at the position.
Judging by the momentum building from the fan votes, Burns might also be in line for a deserved selection to the Pro Bowl in 2020 in only his second year at the next level. And make no mistake, he is thoroughly deserving of such an accolade.
Few – if any – members of Carolina’s current roster have seen their stock rise as much as the former Florida State standout this season and the Panthers are extremely fortunate to have him.
