5 studs and duds from the Panthers loss at the Packers

Curtis Samuel – Carolina Panthers WR
Curtis Samuel has been a real force to be reckoned with in recent weeks. But this was probably his worst game of the season at a crucial time for the wide receiver.
Samuel was unable to make the most of the bright lights on the national stage and boost his chances of getting a big-money extension in 2021. He was sluggish throughout the game barring a couple of nice grabs in critical moments and it did appear as if his mind wasn’t really on the job in the early going.
If the former Ohio State Buckeye wanted to put himself in the shop window, to a certain extent, then he didn’t do enough to convince another team that he worthy of a substantial financial commitment next spring.
Samuel caught just four of nine targets thrown his way for 42 receiving yards and was also ineffective running the football to record six yards from two carries.
This wasn’t good enough.
And nobody will know that more than Samuel himself.
Carolina made him a focal point after shining considerably over recent weeks and he failed to produce the goods. There is enough to suggest that this is probably just a blip where Samuel is concerned and the Panthers are going to face a real fight on their hands if they want to keep the player around.
