Carolina Panthers: Brian Burns put the NFL on notice at Packers
By Dean Jones
Carolina Panthers’ defensive end Brian Burns put the NFL on notice.
It was a sensational display of dominance from Brian Burns. The defensive end wreaked havoc for the Carolina Panthers in their narrow loss at the Green Bay Packers in Week 15, which formally put the NFL on notice.
This is the league’s next great pass rusher.
And there is nothing anybody can do about it.
Burns has threatened to put it all together in the manner he displayed on Saturday Night Football all season. He has made some serious strides since a promising rookie campaign that resulted in seven sacks in a rotational role on a defensive front that had plenty of established veterans past their peak in 2019.
Simply put, Burns has thrived with more responsibility on his shoulders and his performance in front of a national audience was further proof of just what a special player he is.
The former Florida State standout terrorized quarterback Aaron Rodgers as the Panthers held Green Bay to three points in the second half. But it was not enough for Carolina to sure a significant upset.
That shouldn’t detract from what sort of impact Burns made throughout the contest. He left everything out on the field and if the pass-rushing phenom wasn’t a household name before, he is now.
