4 Panthers players who disappointed at the Packers in Week 15
By Dean Jones
Which Carolina Panthers players disappointed at the Packers?
The Carolina Panthers can take plenty of heart from their 24-16 loss at the Green Bay Packers. They more than made up for a poor start with a relentless second half display – especially on defense – but the simple fact is they left themselves with too much to do and paid the price accordingly.
This is largely what was expected of the Carolina Panthers in 2020. Their over-under for wins was 5.5 and although there have been some really nice moments, the same old problems resurface seemingly every week which has played a massive role in their downfall.
A less disrupted offseason period next time around is going to help, as will some better reinforcements coming to the Panthers in free agency and the 2021 NFL Draft. Carolina does boast some exciting young pieces to build around. But it is vital that they get almost every decision right in terms of recruitment.
For now, here are four Panthers players who won’t look back on their respective performances at Lambeau Field with a great sense of pride.
Player No. 1
Curtis Samuel – Carolina Panthers WR
It was a rare off night for Curtis Samuel.
The wide receiver has emerged as one of the league’s most reliable pass-catchers in 2020 to further boost his stock ahead of contract negotiations this spring. But there were a few errors at the Packers that caused some concern.
This was probably just a blip from Samuel’s perspective. The cold climate made things difficult for everybody and how he bounces back from gaining just four receptions from nine targets will be key.
The former Ohio State star should still be a hot commodity on the free-agent market if Carolina lets this situation get that far. However, his bid to impress in the national spotlight didn’t pan out as expected.
