Robby Anderson – Carolina Panthers WR

Robby Anderson‘s impressive 2020 campaign finally came back to haunt him in this one. The wide receiver has enjoyed a phenomenal amount of success since joining the Carolina Panthers and this forced Green Bay to take the necessary precautions to limit his influence on proceedings.

This came in the form of stud cornerback Jaire Alexander, who was tasked with shadowing Anderson for the majority of the contest and something he managed to accomplish with aplomb.

Anderson found life difficult getting open, which played a leading role in the receiver being virtually anonymous in the first half. There is no shame in this as Alexander is one of the best in the business. But it was hard to look at his performance and not feel like he should have done more.

The former New York Jet did manage to get over the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time in his career, which was the only consolation he’ll take from tying his season-low in yards gained through the air with 21 from two receptions.

Anderson was targeted just five times. This is a testament to how respected Alexander is in NFL circles and the corner is one of the primary reasons why Green Bay finds itself with a legitimate chance of lifting the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

As for Anderson, expect the wideout to be more involved against a quality Washington secondary that is ranked No. 2 in passing yards allowed per game this season.
