D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR

D.J. Moore was Marty Hurney’s first NFL Draft pick of his second spell as general manager and another that has proved to be a big success. The wide receiver is among the brightest young players in the business and there is every chance he can get even better in the coming years providing some concerns are alleviated regarding the quarterback position.

While Moore has benefitted from a more accurate passer under center this season, his chemistry with Teddy Bridgewater could be better and a less disruptive offseason period in 2021 should do the trick providing the free-agent signing is still the No. 1 option by that point.

Moore has improved his route-running an endless amount this season. It did take some time for the wideout to adjust to having another prolific weapon on the opposite side in Robby Anderson. But the pair are both now over 1,000-yards receiving and considered as one of the more dangerous tandems across the league.

Say what you want to about Hurney.

But the man knows what a first-round pick looks like.

There is nothing Moore cannot do from a pass-catching perspective and he is incredibly elusive in open space. All signs point to a long and successful career and the former GM deserves all the credit in the world for picking a player that most teams gave a wide berth.
