The Carolina Panthers’ defense will have a multi-sack and multi-turnover game.

The Washington Football Team’s defense has deservedly gotten a ton of shine, but the Carolina Panthers’ unit will have a wonderful opportunity to show they can be just as forceful.

Carolina’s unit looked special last week, sacking Aaron Rodgers five times in Green Bay. Unfortunately, they may be without the services of their best player this Sunday, defensive end Brian Burns.

Washington quarterback Alex Smith has built his brand on taking care of the football. But with his status in question, Carolina should be chomping at the bit to take on Dwayne Haskins.

After a promising career at Ohio State, the start of Haskins’ NFL career has been underwhelming. The No. 15 overall selection in 2019 has passed for 2,650 passing yards, 12 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, with a completion percentage of 60.8 percent in 15 career games.

If Phil Snow can scheme a way to pressure Haskins, the turnovers should come.

The lack of pressure has been the Achilles heel of this Panthers defense, but they’ve recorded at least two sacks in seven games this season.

Can Carolina do it again with their former defensive head coach on the opposite sideline? Absolutely. Washington ranks 29th in the NFL in sacks allowed (44) this season.
