Get Teddy Bridgewater in a rhythm

Teddy Bridgewater has the weight of the world on his shoulders heading into Week 16. The quarterback’s long-term future with the Carolina Panthers is growing increasingly concerning after another failed attempt to win a contest down the stretch at the Packers, which has seen even more media outlets and fans turn on the former first-round pick.

It appears as if Matt Rhule is also losing patience with his signal-caller, with owner David Tepper’s comments about “constant evaluation” another sign that the writing may be on the wall if Bridgewater cannot turn things around over the next two games.

If he cannot get in a rhythm early on, it could be a long afternoon against a quality defense that has playmakers in every positional group.

That is why it’s essential for offensive coordinator Joe Brady – who isn’t without blame regarding Bridgewater’s demise – to make things as easy as possible during the opening exchanges. The Louisville product’s success this season has been predicated on a strong start and if he can generate some momentum from the outset, it could bring an upturn in fortunes.

There isn’t much to play for other than pride for the Panthers. But that doesn’t apply to Bridgewater after the decision-makers put him firmly on the hot seat.
