4 veteran QBs who could compete with Teddy Bridgewater in 2021

Jameis Winston – New Orleans Saints
Jameis Winston brought a new meaning to the term 30 for 30 last season. He was erratic and brilliant in equal measure during what turned out to be his final season with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before they decided to move on from the former No. 1 overall selection in favor of bringing perennial Super Bowl-winner Tom Brady to the organization.
Winston eventually ended up on the New Orleans Saints, which was probably the best thing for him. Sitting and learning from someone with the accomplishments of Drew Brees has undoubtedly done him the world of good. But his chances of replacing the future Pro Football Hall of Famer appear slim.
There is little doubt that Winston could still be a starter in the NFL.
Cutting out silly mistakes will be crucial to this, but if fans of the Carolina Panthers want to see an exciting quarterback under center instead of the more cautious approach provided by Teddy Bridgewater, then he is a solid option that might be available on the cheap.
This would light a fire under Bridgewater, at the very least. Complacency might have been an issue this season with the coaching staff not holding out much hope for the two primary backups. But adding someone like Winston to the mix would change that in an instant.
For all Winston’s faults – and he has plenty – the signal-caller is fearless getting the ball downfield and this would be a quality asset to call upon with the weapons at the Panthers’ disposal.
