2020 end of season awards for the Carolina Panthers.

The 2020 season is finally in the books for the Carolina Panthers. It has been the rollercoaster many expected after so many changes during the offseason and even though they didn’t have a winning record or a postseason appearance to show for their efforts, the pieces are there to build around with a view to becoming a postseason contender in the future.

Head coach Matt Rhule deserves an endless amount of credit for the way he’s gone about his business. The Carolina Panthers bet big on his ability to steer them through a period of transition and the former Baylor man has done well despite the obvious disruptions surrounding COVID-19.

What comes next for the Panthers will be crucial. Some big decisions need to be made regarding current playing personnel and they need to get recruitment right to further boost their chances moving forward.

A new general manager will bring a fresh set of ideas. So even though action on the field has come to an end, the next few months should be full of drama where Carolina is concerned.

Here are our end of season award winners from the 2020 campaign.

Mike Davis – Carolina Panthers RB

Things looked bleak for the Panthers when Christian McCaffrey was forced to miss all but three games of the season through various injuries. However, they were still able to run the ball efficiently, for the most part, thanks to the sterling efforts of Mike Davis.

The veteran running back was fighting for his life at training camp, coming through the test with flying colors to earn the primary backup role. Davis was then thrust into a starting position and excelled with more responsibility on his shoulders, eventually finishing with 1,015 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns.

Considering that Davis had amassed 98 yards from scrimmage over the three years prior to 2020, then this represents a significant increase in production and one that he can be enormously proud of.
